Interview & Book Signing with Phil Manzanera
100 Rock and Roll Blvd
Cleveland, 44114, OH, United States
Join us for a special Interview & Book Signing with 2019 Inductee Phil Manzanera, renowned British musician and producer, best known as lead guitarist of the iconic band Roxy Music. Awarded an OBE in 2024 for services to music, he is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading guitarists.
This event will feature a brief live performance, offering a rare chance to experience his signature guitar work up close.
Born to a British father and Colombian mother, Manzanera joined Roxy Music in 1972 at age 21, alongside Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno, Andy Mackay, and Paul Thompson. The band achieved meteoric success throughout the 1970s and early ’80s with ten UK top ten albums. After an 18-year hiatus, Roxy Music reunited in 2001 for sold-out world tours, culminating in their 50th anniversary tour in 2022 and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Beyond Roxy Music, Manzanera has collaborated with David Gilmour (co-producing Pink Floyd’s “The Endless River” and Gilmour’s “Rattle That Lock”), Tim Finn, Brian Eno, and numerous Latin American artists. His 1978 guitar riff was famously sampled in Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Grammy-winning “No Church in the Wild.”
In 2024, he published his memoir “Revolución to Roxy” and released “50 Years of Music,” an 11-CD box set. He continues to create and produce music from his Gallery Studios in West London, now in his fifth decade as a professional musician.
